CALL TO ACTION! Olmsted Co Commissioners Meeting Tues 5/18

Please show your support for the Rookery and come to this meeting!

TUESDAY MAY 18th @ 3pm OLMSTED COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MTG

Council Chambers at the Government Center, 151 4th St SE, Rochester, MN 55904

or attend virtually :

(The web portal above will be live at the time of the meeting.)

The decision that the Commissioners are making on Tuesday is THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISION. An Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) - as requested by the Township - will not automatically save the rookery, but keeping the land in a protected resource land use designation will!

The Commissioners are voting on the land use change based on a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission - who made their determination without knowing about the existence of the Rookery.

Ask that the Commissioners request Planning and Zoning Commission to go back and reassess based on the new information. Deny the LUPA recommendation from Planning and Zoning and ask that Planning and Zoning gather the new information and vote on it again, based on updated statements of fact.
